2009 Certificates

Certificates for ANE 2009 have been sent participants who signed into seminars.

These certificates may be used as proof of participation for IA Renewal, AMT Awards, CRI Renewal Programs and Wings Credit. They also may be provided as evidence of training when applying for or renewing aircraft insurance policies.

Bram Tilroe, President of the Aviation Alberta, shares tips and tricks on flying in Canada.  details

Skis and Shoulder Harness
We are pleased to welcome Dave Swartz, an aeronautical engineer with the FAA Aircraft Certification Office in Anchorage back to ANE this year. Dave is also bringing a new face to the conference this year. Eric Wright is an aerospace engineer, who will talk about shoulder harness installation on Thursday. 

Aircraft Recovery
Joel Natwik, Tanalian Aircraft Repair of Port Alsworth, is one of the people who comes out to put your airplane back together for the ferry flight back to civilization.  All pilots should hear this presentation. details

Protecting your Vision
Another new speaker this year is Dr. Ingrid Zimmer-Galler, from Johns Hopkins University Medical  in Maryland.  Her talk will cover a number of medical vision conditions we might encounter as we age, how they are treated, and how to work with your Aviation Medical Examiner to keep your medical. 

AOPA Air Safety Foundation Seminars
JJ Greenway will bring AOPA ASF's latest seminar, What Went Wrong to Alaska.  A look at general aviation accidents from the eyes of an investigator details

The other seminar Greenway will present is entitled GPS from the Ground Up. This presentation integrates GPS into the entire flight regime, from flight planning and preflight, through departure, enroute and arrival phases. details

New Airports Group Established in Alaska
To give more visibility and awareness to airports, a group of airport managers and supporters has banded together to form the Alaska Airports Association (AkAA). details
